SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT

The Bead Corner  is committed to providing employment opportunities for adults with develpmental disabilities.  We partner with several different agencies and community organizations to create these opportunities.  The result is beautiful jewelry created by these special individuals!

Two of our supported employment programs are described below.

DESIGNS BY FLY  is a “joint venture” between FLY members, their sponsors, and The Bead Corner in Monument, CO. FLY members and Bead Corner staff work together to design, string, and finish unique necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. FLY members are encouraged actively to participate in the design process, resulting in many animated discussions! The Bead Corner provides all materials and finishing services. When a piece is sold, a significant portion is returned to FLY to fund recreational and social programs; the remainder is used to cover material and labor costs. The result is a program where FLY members can improve their vocational skills, enjoy the art of beading, and work as a team to raise funds for their activities.

 CREATIONS UNLIMITED  is another joint venture between Carmel Community Living Corporation and the Bead Corner.  In this program, clients are paid directly for their work at The Bead Corner.  See the Carmel Community Living Corporation website for more information.
